Art and Beer

Mike and I went to a lovely new establishment called Art Bar. It's pretty much exactly what it sounds like, art and alcohol, which is a perfect combination for me! The teacher was an awesome local artist Aaron Herrera. We picked out some beer and then sat down for Mike's first ever time painting! My mother was always into crafts so it blows my mind that someone could go 24 years without touching acrylics.

That fresh white canvas is just itching to have paint on it! This was seriously so much fun. The instructor was awesome, he broke everything down into easy to follow steps, and took some one on one time with everyone several times during the class. About halfway through it finally started to resemble the original painting.  

Not too bad for someone who is most definitely not an artist! By now Mike was starting to really get into it as well. We will be doing this as a date night again for sure. Looking at the picture it looks almost done but we were really only about half way through the class. Here is the final product though

 Mine is on the left and Mike's painting is on the right. I wish my sun was lower in the sky but overall I love how my painting came out. We will be hanging Mike's painting in the garage and I will be giving mine to my mother. 

This was a fantastic date night and I am so excited that Mike loved it. I can't wait for the next class we take!
